My Top 5 Keto Recipes!

Hey hey ladies & gents! I'm back with my top 5 favorite kept recipes & goodies! Some of you may and may not know that earlier this year I went on a weightless/get healthy journey. The back story is that I was overweight & I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. PCOS is a condition that effects 1 & 10 women, so it is pretty common unfortunately. It is a conditional that effects your hormones & can cause a heck of a lot of issues. It sucks all around and there is no getting around that. Apparently different women can have different types. You can have it with periods, no periods (amenorrhea), or irregular periods. You can also have awful side effects like the period thing, excess body hair, hair loss, insulin resistance, cysts on ovaries, mood swings, weight gain & loss etc. I personally have a few, and one of the things that got me the most was the irregular periods & insulin resistance. I would get my period every 6ish months, and when I did get that it was HELL. Insulin resistance is another crappy thing to have. It has to do with blood sugar and all those fun things (not). Anyway, where I'm going with this, is that Keto or a low carb way of eating is known to help with the side effects of PCOS. So far, I can say that is true.

Immediately, my insulin resistance was pretty much gone. My periods became regular within 90ish days of eating that way, and I have lost a total of 35 lbs. It is so awesome, if you do it the right way. I want to put a disclaimer out there that I am not a medical professional, and just because this works for me, doesn't mean it will work for you.

After some time off, I decided it's time to get back on track. This isn't just about the weight loss as much anymore, more so just overall health. I'm not going to go into the medical science of Ketosis and all that right now, but if you want me to talk more in depth about this topic and that sort, please let me know.

So, with that being said. Let us jump right in! Below I'm going to list my top 5 favorites, a long with the link to the recipe if need be, so you can try these too!!

1. Taco Salad/Taco Bowl/
I don't think this needs a recipe lol. Basically I brown the meat, add the seasonings, and then top it all off in a bowl. I love cheddar cheese, onions, jalepenos, black olives, sour cream (full fat always), and iceberg lettuce. If you want tomatoes, do so in moderation. You can add a lot, just be careful of carb loaded veggies & sauces. Always check the nutritional facts.

2. Crack Chicken/ Recipe
I add cheddar cheese as well near the end of it being done. This one is so good. I have added broccoli florets to the dish too for added veggies.

3. Mississippi Rost/ Recipe
This is literally so so so good. I have only made it with a pork loin roast but I've heard people make it beef, and chicken. This is delicious over mashed potatoes but guess what? On Keto you can't have potatoes so hahah. I'm not into mashed cauliflower so there's that, but I'm sure the roast would still be delicious without it.

4. Keto Pancakes/ Recipe
This was surprisingly good! Now I have played around with these pancakes with different stuff but the basic recipe is good. It reminds me of french toast kind of. The basic recipe is a more flat pancake (think crepe) but still a good substitute if you're in the mood for a good pancake. Make sure to use sugar free syrup if you're keto but still don't go overboard because usually there are still carbs in it. You can also top with a few berries, and whipped cream :)

5. Jalepeno Poppers/ recipe
If you love spicy, this is for you. However, sometimes when I make these, they aren't as spicy. But they are also very flavorful with the bacon. These are so dang good, and awesome for a little appetizer or a side dish. Theres not much more to say besides they are DELICIOUS!

Alright folks, I hope you try these out :) Even if you're not keto you can still try. I wanted to write this blog post because I get a lot of questions about the foods I eat and what not, so maybe this helps you. If you have any questions be sure to leave them in the comments. I'll talk to you very soon!
